Cuenca Yesterday and Today
Have you ever wondered what the streets, buildings, and daily life of Cuenca truly looked like more than 800 years ago? Thanks to the project Cuenca Yesterday and Today (La Cuenca de Ayer y Hoy), managed within the Sustainable Tourism Plan, history comes to life with unprecedented detail and dimension.
We have traveled back in time to recreate the Cuenca that once was, using the highest historical accuracy and detail. This ambitious project culminates in a spectacular virtual recreation video that will transport you directly to the 13th Century, a pivotal era in the configuration and development of our World Heritage City.
What You Will Discover in the Video:
The City Walls and Gates: See the imposing defenses of the city as they once stood.
The Alcázar and the Primitive Cathedral: Gaze upon the foundational structures of the main monuments.
Daily Life: Stroll through the narrow streets and observe the trades and rhythm of medieval Cuenca.
Cuenca Yesterday and Today is an essential tool for understanding the evolution of our heritage. It is a bridge between the city we walk in today and the historic fortress it was at its origin.
