Roman Mine La Mora Encantada


Surroundings

The Mora Encantada mine is a specular or selenitic plaster deposit in which the Romans exploited the famous lapis specularis or Hispania crystal, a transparent plaster that was used as window glass in Roman times. It has more than a kilometer of galleries more than 40 meters deep, two extraction shafts and a stepped entrance.
